Toad in the Hole

Latest cookery experiment – Toad in the Hole.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 100g plain flour
  • 150ml water
  • 150ml milk
  • 2 table spoons veg. oil
  • 6 decent quality sausages

Instructions:

  1. Pre-heat oven on gas mark 7
  2. Pour veg oil into oven-proof dish
  3. Add sausages (pricked) and bake for 10 minutes
  4. Add flour to mixing bowl
  5. Crack egg and whisk together
  6. Mix water and milk together in seperate container
  7. Add 50% of milk/water mix to flour/egg and whisk until smooth and thick
  8. Add remainder of milk/water to mixture and mix well.
  9. Pour batter over sausages
  10. Lower heat to gas mark 6
  11. Bake for 45
