Network Data Platform – Analytics Engine and Assurance Engine.
Analytics is the action of taking data and storing it in a format that can be exploited by the Assurance Engine to get value from the information.
The Analytics Engine collects data from a variety of sources such as SNMP, Syslog, Netflow and Streaming Telemetry. Data can also be sent in from ISE, DHCP, DNS, AD etc.
All the information is stored in a database which can be accessed via API.
Network Assurance.
Troubleshooting tends to be slow and reactive owing to a lack of visibility.
SD Assurance proactively monitors the network – looks for problems development and resource utilisation.
Increased visibility across all mediums with health scores – WAN/LAN/Wireless
Device 360 – view of everything that the device is doing.
Assurance gives suggestions with problems and the automation engine will deploy the suggested configuration.
Path Trace – a diagnostic utility that shows indepth where problems exist in the traffic path.
Assurance can help with:
- Network connectivity
- Connectivity between SDA nodes
- Node health
- Network services such as DHCP, DNS, AAA
- Wireless problems – association/auth failures, excessive onboarding time, roaming problems, coverage holes, capacity issues.
